Paralysed teen wins horse riding legal battle
A teenager who broke her back in a horse riding fall has won a £3m legal battle against her ex-boyfriend’s family. Ashleigh Harris, who was 14 at the time of the incident, had been encouraged by her then boyfriend’s family to ride the ex-racehorse when she fell off, leaving her paralysed from the waist down. The horse owner’s insurance company will pay part of the claim under the terms of their “personal liability” cover but the rest will have to come directly from the family.
